Therefore our mission is to save as many souls as possible and to teach them about Christ and who they are in the Kingdom of God.
Our History
Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church originated in 1869 on Taylor Mills Road. The church was then named Mt. Ollie Baptist Church. Worship services were held there until Mt. Ollie began meeting at Bro. Pierce Tucker's log cabin home. A tract of land was donated to Mt. Ollie, and a new church was built. The name was then changed to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Peter Fann. On April 7, 1933 the church was destroyed by fire. Immediately contacts were made and worship services continued on first Sunday's under a Bush Arbor. Conferences were held for rebuilding the church.
Many accomplishments were made with various pastors and members of this church. For thirty years the second Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church stood.
In 1963 Rev. Allen Hillman built the first block church. This church celebrated 150 years of service this year, 2018. It has a deep rich history of pastors and members. Presently our newly elected pastor is Cassandra Williams. Under her leadership the house was set in order. We are so thankful to have a great woman of God to teach sound doctrine and lead and guide us in the right direction. We've come this far by faith in God. We look forward to another year of prosperity and favor. Thank you Lord for reviving us again!
Meet our pastor
apostle Cassandra M. Williams, Esq.
Apostle Cassandra M. Williams is a woman of God who believes that God called her to help women who are hurting. She coaches, mentors and counsels women from all walks of life across the country. She founded Throne Room Ministries Equipping and Training Center Georgia with her husband Pastor Eric B. Williams.
Apostle Cassie is an intercessor. After graduating from the Eagle’s International Institute for Prayer under Pastor Karen Gardner she and her husband began two prayer calls twice a month. One is called “The Family Prayer Call” and the other is the “Friends and Family Prayer Call”. The prayer call is now merged into one call and grew to every Wednesday night. The calls equip family and friends to believe God through prayer. The prayer calls also allow family and friends to grow into their spiritual gifts in a nurturing environment among friends and family.
Apostle Cassie was ordained in 2016 through KAMT by Bishop Chris Hardy. In June 2018 at Throne Room Image Ministries one year anniversary, both Pastors Eric and Cassandra Williams were ordained as Apostles by Bishop Chris Hardy and took over the leadership of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Byron Georgia. One month later Apostle Eric B Williams passed away.
